Working as a nightshift medical examiner for the city of Phoenix, with the stigma of “the pretty girl who plays with dead people,” Armen finds herself caught up in a series of bizarre and gruesome crime scenes, which make her question her flesh at times. From ancient tongues and dreams of death to deadly chases by three-headed dogs, Armen’s life is a chain of sweeping events that constantly throw her in handsome Detective TERRY ARMSTRONG’s path. She is not altogether thrilled with this due to the experience that made her fall from grace, but the man has a way of growing on a person, and her past seems to be rearing its ugly head. Then there’s the man’s father, SEAN ARMSTRONG, who is the ex-priest-slash-demon wrangler partly responsible for her becoming flesh.
Armed with a lethal dose of sarcasm, a divine scepter that shouldn’t exist in the human world, and enough stubbornness to drive anyone mad, Armen must find out why all Hell has broken loose, and why in her Father’s name they are after her.
